so if you were to recommend your TOP 5 sights not to miss in LONDON, UK... what would those be?

It doesn't have to be tourist traps, to be honnest, i prefer less touristy places than most... after spending months in Paris, i never went to the Louvre museum nor climbed the Eiffel Tower. And after maybe 20 trips to NYC i still haven't seen the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building (well the view from the top that is)... so as you can see i'm not really into doing typical tourist activities.

What i want to know are... which neighbourhoods did you love? Any coups de coeur? Any little known places that made your day? Etc.

Museums, neighbourhoods, cheap eats, etc...

As I don't have anything particularly interesting to say, I'll give you some images to look at instead with my latest short documentary film: The Donkey, the Goat, the Dog and the Taxi, a fable from Mali, Africa about the local animals and their behaviour on the road. Documentary Class: B+ (only 6 people got better grades than I)
Italian: A- (no better grades given, i'm part of the only 5 people to get that good grade)
Intro to Producing: A (only 2 people got A+)

And i said i didn't care about grades... well, I do care ;) I'm competitive.

So all and all, a pretty great semester!

With a new GPA or 3,7 I'm even eligible for graduate studies...
Anyhow i don't want to do a masters in Arts but... it's good to have the possibility ;)

I can't believe it. I got A- in Italian! After suffering through the toughest exam ever, last week, worth 45% too!! I thought my average of A+ would become a measly C+ at best... To my surprise i got A- for the whole semester. There are no As or A+s in that class. Only 5 A=s and i'm part of those 5.

Yeah! I rock at Italian!! :)

Now... 1 Italian exam left and half a paper to write and that'll be that.

Je sais pas si, comme moi, vous avez eu le malheur d'entendre l'ostie de toune gossante "La Rue Rachel" dans un endroit public, mais ostie que c'est poche puis ça reste dans la tête. Yesterday I celebrated my only-1-week-to-go-till-school's-out-forever by skipping more than half my class to addend Clint's vernissage. It was great! It's quite a strange feeling to see oneself in a painting! :)

In other news, I'm proud to still be a representative of geeks and i got 95% (A+) on my last Italian exam! I know I said I wouldn't care about grades since I'm only there to pass and not attempt to do a master's after... well, I'm too competitive for that. So, so far I'm kicking serious asses. Ha!

Now off to work. At least I don't have any RDS (French TSN) to do today.

La première chose qu'on m'a dite ce matin, à 8 h 20, alors que je marchais pour me rendre au bureau, était de la part d'un individu un peu louche. Il me dit alors que je le croise sur le trottoir: "C'est pas toé 997, j'imagine?"

Dans ma stupeur matinale, je n'ai réussi qu'à murmurer un faible "Huh?!"

Probablement un vendeur de drogue.
Ou bien un gars qui vit dans The Matrix et voit des chiffres partout...

Yummy salad for lunch!

Working from home, eating freshly made food and staying in my PJs all day is well worth the back pains my uncomfy work station bring me.

In this salad, there is organic lettuce mix, half a savoura tomato, a bit of raw fennel, one organic avocado, a cucumber, 3 roasted shallots, a bit of panko Janapese tempura batter and some Wafu salad dressing!

Pour ceux d'entre vous intéressés par ma vie et mes écrits plus profonds que les inepties que je peux écrire ici, avis que j'ai continué d'écrire dans mon blog de stagiaire et je compte bien écrire fréquemment.

Sinon, j'ai été plutôt déçue par la Nuit Blanche de cette année. Il y avait vraiment trop de monde, c'était infernal. Il aurait fallu que j'attende plus d'une heure (il y avait au moins 200 personnes qui faisaient la queue pour entrer au Musée d'art contemporain!) pour voir le MAC et ce que j'ai vu au Belgo était totalement inintérassant (sauf pour quelques oeuvres d'art abstrait bien brillantes à l'expoxy, quelque part au 3e étage).

À part ça, j'ai rien vu d'autre. J'ai gelé. Et j'ai même manqué mon propre film à la Nuit Spasm puisque mon copain se sentait mal et on est rentrés se coucher au lieu d'être entassés tels des sardines quelque part.

Other than that, I cleaned my closet and i have TONS of clothes for sale... or better yet: maybe we should do another clothes swap. Who's with me?

I convinced my lovely boy to buy a wonderful wonderful table at the ultra chic design store Philip Van Leeuwen.

But it didn't come with chairs. So now, we're shopping for chairs. We don't want to go to Ikea, but we don't want to spend $150 on each chairs either. Structube, The Brick, etc., don't seem to have anything we like.

Help? Where should i look?

one of the bad things of living really close to my work is the absence of coffee shops on my route to work. i'm far from a coffee fiend, but after spending the night on a very uncomfy couch that i own, i really would like a strong coffee.

It's funny (read strange, silly, reassuring, a symbol of how consistent i am, frightening, stupid, etc.) to see how much, in some respects, i am exactly the same at 30 than i was at 20.

Today's example: i am making a fruit salad, straightening my hair, watching Grey's Anatomy, doing dishes, emptying the litter box, etc., instead of writing my midterm. It would take me 2 hours to do it and then i'd be free. But since i have no plans for tomorrow night i figured i could write it Monday night... given that it's only due Tuesday.

(sigh) Oh me.

Why do i keep on waiting for tomorrow?
